Supreme Court vs Prashant Bhushan

 The verdict of supreme court on the contempt case against Prashant Bhushan was an extremely smart move. The court fined him exactly a rupee.

At first glance it may seem as if the court has lost and given into the pressure . But if you think carefully you'd come to understand that, if Prashant Bhushan gives the fine, it would be his admittance to guilt. Whereas, if he doesn't pay the fine he would be thrown into jail and debarred from practicing law.

A lot of cards are at play here. If Prashant Bhushan ends up paying the fine, he'd lose all the momentum which he had built up during the period. He has to choose between losing his status as a public hero and getting debarred.

The next few days would certainly be exciting.
